Reflection of CORE 456.01 The Digital Revolution
This Core Senior Seminar course taught me some of the most important information about technology that I will use moving forward in my career. Understanding the advances of our digital world and the technologies that proceeded the innovative ones we see today opened my eyes to the possibilities of digital technologies and information. Learning about artificial intelligence in particular was something I was nervous about going into this course, thinking it would take over the world one day. Even though this still might happen (hopefully not), I have found ways to use AI to my advantage in my future career and learn how it is generated, what its advantages and disadvantages are, and what is still to be improved with these programs.
Each of the lectures in this class ranging from talking about the idea of consciousness, to how to conduct binary calculations, to the differences between analog and digital, have allowed me to learn about a new side to our world that I never heard about before. This course introduced me to the complexities of our digital world and how to use today’s technology to better our futures. I hope to use what I learned in this course in the field of architecture and encourage others to learn more about digital technologies.
